Sample cover letter for Full Time position at LEK Consulting

I am a final year undergraduate at the University of Cambridge and I would like to apply for the graduate scheme with Credo as advertised on the University Careers Service website. I am currently studying for an Msci in Natural Sciences (Physical) and will graduate in June 2016.

I am very keen to work as a management consultant because it would challenge me intellectually whilst allowing me to have a positive impact on my clients on a daily basis. I chatted to a number of recent graduates and directors from L.E.K. Consulting at recent careers fair. I was impressed by the challenging yet supportive culture at L.E.K. Consulting and the way in which it approaches problems. L.E.K. Consulting’s action oriented approach and a focus on practical solutions to problems makes L.E.K. Consulting stand out to me.

A career in management consultancy is characterised by the wide variety of complex business problems faced and the use of analytical and reasoning skills to provide effective solutions for clients. One of the things which attracted me to this profession is the variety enjoyed by working across numerous industries with numerous clients and the opportunity to make a real impact in shaping these industries through the changes we make and the lasting results we deliver.
