Sample cover letter for Internship position at Lehigh University

POSITION:

Admission Intern

I am writing to submit my application for the International Recruitment, Office of Admissions internship. Being involved in the LU Diplomats since the club started, I am an active member of the Skype and Tour guide committee. With the desire to get more involved with the club, I am very excited to apply for the internship; this opportunity is compatible with my passion about working with a diverse group of people.

In the past summer I have been working with XYZ for the ABC organized by the 123. Prior to the start of the program, I volunteered to help XYZ get ready for this four-week summer business program. Throughout the month of June, I assisted Diana to create and design check-in forms for 75 students and created communication tools such as google docs and google groups for 13 project teams. In addition, I helped put the binders for every student together and any other detailed logistics as needed. During the month of July, I mentored a group of six American and International students to develop a marketing plan for a local awning company CCC. I acted as a group leader, a friend and a supervisor throughout the program. Aside from the project, I worked together with other mentors to initiate fun activities like capture the flags, tug the war and the talent show for the students to bond and express their talents. I also helped create and constantly update Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for the AAA program. I believe that my experiences have made me an excellent cross-cultural communicator, helped me learn to prioritize, and become more open and appreciate people’s differences.

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to review my application. I look forward to contributing to a challenging, yet energetic internship opportunity like serving as a mentor for AAA. I am available to answer any questions you may have and talk about the position in more detail. If you need any additional information, I can be reached at xxx.
