Sample cover letter for Internship position at London Investment Banking week

POSITION:

Group member

Dear X,

My name is X and I am currently a 2nd year business and economics student at X. I am applying for the opportunity to attend the X. In speaking with former project managers, I believe that participating in X would allow me to gain a valuable insight into both the application process and the investment banking culture in London.

As a summer analyst at X’s Corporate Finance division I got an insight into the culture of investment banking and honed my analytical skills as well as my knowledge of accounting and finance. Given my previous experience in investment banking I believe that I will be able to bring valuable insights to the other participants of X and that I will also be able to keep up the discussions with participating companies in a way that will be both beneficial to them and myself.

When I worked as a regional manager for X I myself arranged similar trips to multiple countries with the same purpose as X. I believe that this will be a valuable experience that I will be able to utilize during the trip, both during meetings with companies and during our spare time.

In conclusion given my skillset, knowledge and previous experiences I believe that I will be a valuable asset to the X group as a whole and I am excited to take part of this opportunity. Please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
