Sample cover letter for Internship position at MSA

POSITION:

Analyst

Please accept this cover letter as an expression of my interest to be considered for the ********. As a recent graduate from the Applied Energy Economics program at the University of ******, I would be an excellent candidate for the position. My education has provided me with a unique perspective and broad skillset directly applicable to the energy industry. Some of my skills include econometric modeling, regression analysis, and data manipulation, along with energy industry background analysis.

This analyst role is an ideal role for me and one at which I am well equipped to excel. I always seek unique and stimulating challenges, pride myself on being calm in demanding situations, excel amongst ambiguity, and continually identify opportunities for improvement and growth at employers.

Though I will apply at several companies, the Market Surveillance Administrator is my preference because it is the industry standard and leader in promoting a fair, efficient and competitive electricity market in an ever-changing deregulated market. Though not a requirement by my program, my research papers have all consistently revolved around the Canadian electricity industry, primarily Alberta as its proved to be a personal interest. It would allow me to apply my theoretical and academic specializations in real world situations while giving me the opportunity to learn and grow from the primary force in the Albertan electricity industry.

With its focus on a fair and self-sustaining competitive market, the **** has proven its commitment to ***** electricity development. It is a company that I am confident will ably adapt, handle, and guide market changes in to the future. I would be gratified by the opportunity to begin working at the ******** and hope that you will see me as a viable candidate.

Cheers,

******
