Sample cover letter for Internship position at Make a Wish Foundation

POSITION:

Entertainment and Sports Relations Internship

Dear Hiring Professional,

My name is XXXXXXXX and I am a full time student at Arizona State University. This letter is regarding the Entertainment & Sports Relations Internship that was posted on your organization’s website. As a senior majoring in Communications I offer strong writing and conversational skills as well as knowledge of effective verbal communication practices.

For about a year now I have worked at Nike as a sales associate. My love for sports and entertainment was heightened while working here. Working at Nike has taught me how to apply my communication skills out of the classroom. I know how to communicate and describe products clearly to consumers. I work efficiently with multiple customers at a time on the phone and in person. Also, if we had any professional athlete comps I was assist them in a professional manner and help them with whatever they need.

I am also in a sorority called Gamma Phi Beta and we work with a non-profit called Girls on the Run which is an organization which helps young girls grow and learn through training for a 5k race. We got involved by coming to their race to cheer them on at the end. We were paired up with one of the girls as a running buddy and we ran with them in their race. Completing a 5k gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals.

I would appreciate an opportunity to meet with you to discuss my qualifications and to learn more about this job opportunity. I may be reached at XXXXXXXXXX or XXXXXXXXXXX to set up a convenient time.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXXXXX
