Sample cover letter for Internship position at Marsh

POSITION:

Management Trainee

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my strong interest in the Intern position at your Istanbul office, as advertised on Kariyer.net. My educational background and prior experience make me a compelling candidate for this position.

I recently graduated from Boston College in the U.S. with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science. I will be relocating to Istanbul and am available to work 5 days a week. Having studied in English since pre-school and spending the last four years in the U.S., I have the excellent command of English your company is looking for. Additionally, I am conversational in German and am currently in the process of improving it. I am proficient in all MS Office applications and, as a result of my coursework and Research Fellow position, I have strong analytical skills.

Through my experience in political consultancy as well as my student leadership on campus, I gained the communication, teamwork and client-focus I need to be successful at Marsh. I was a board member for International Club at my university and coordinated the International Orientation for approximately 300 incoming international students. Through these I polished my communication, organization and teamwork skills. As a Legislative Assistant I took part in the preparation of client-specific reports/presentations and took part in lobbying meetings. Thus I can research and evaluate client needs and prepare targeted deliverables accordingly.

I hope this letter and the attached resume exhibit my potential for success as an Intern at Marsh. I look forward to meeting with you to further discuss my how my qualifications can be an asset to our team.

Sincerely,
