Sample cover letter for Internship position at McCormick

POSITION:

Manufacturing Operations Internship

December 29, 2014

To Whom It May Concern:

Not everybody can say that they’ve known what they wanted to do when they grow up since before they learned to multiply and divide; and only a handful of people can say that they realized that they wanted to do by watching their favorite TV shows. My favorites shows growing up were shows about manufacturing such as, How it’s Made, Unwrapped, or Food Factory. Ever since I was little I knew that I wanted to be an engineer. But I didn’t want to be just any kind of engineer; I wanted to work with food, my biggest passion.

The time to apply for jobs has finally come. I am interested in working at McCormick as an intern this summer. Completing an internship in any field of engineering this summer would me to gain experience and grow an aspiring engineer as well as reassure my decision of majoring in Chemical Engineering. But being able to work at a company that handles food such as McCormick would be the opportunity of a lifetime.

I am currently majoring at the University of Alabama in Chemical Engineering. I am also enrolled in a five-year program called the STEM program where I will receive my MBA a year after I receive my Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. I will be completing my second year in May, however by then I will be considered a senior by credits.

I feel that I am very qualified for this internship because I am a hard-worker, and passionate about everything that I engage in. I possess great communication, thinking, people, and working skills. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss what I can offer to Exelon’s internship program. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
