Sample cover letter for Internship position at McKinsey & Company

It was with great interest that I about the job position as Student Assistant with McKinsey & Co as it seems like an exiting work place. My substantial insight and interest in economics, business management and finance should enable me to add value to the project process in form of strong analytical skills and a solid theoretical knowledge.

I wish to work in the management consulting business because I find interest in working with complex, internationally oriented projects that have a visible impact. In addition I value that there is a high level of variety in the projects and that there are never a standard solution. In both of my former student jobs one of my main tasks were assisting with economic analyses.

My contribution during an analysis process was mainly concerned with gathering and structuring information, processing data and preparing the presentation material. This type of work has significantly increased my ability to combine detailed analysis with an understanding of the wider implications of the findings, and has taught me to take an analytical structured approach to complex issues. 

I look forward to further discussing my qualifications, which are fully presented in my enclosed résumé, and to demonstrate how I will be a perfect fit for the Student Assistant position and your firm.
