I am writing this letter in response to the internship position that was published through the University of Houston’s Engineering career center. I intend to apply to the job titled as: “Engineering Summer Intern”. I am a junior petroleum engineer and I meet all the requirements and skills posted for this job.

I have carefully read the requirements from this job and I think I am suited for this position. As you can see attached in my resume I my graded point average meets the standards of your company and I am looking for an opportunity in the oil and gas field. Also I am am working in an initiative to revitalize the Houston’s North Third Ward for which I use Word, Excel and Microsoft Project in order to meet deadlines and set schedules. I also have achieved team experience by working in research projects with members of other universities and working as an academic and teaching assistant I have learnt how to work with fellow students and with faculty members.

I have also developed technical experience by developing simulations for production paths using PVTSIM Nova as well as data analysis using the EPA’s Positive Matrix Factorization Software (PMF) and documenting the results in technical and scientific reports. I am proficient in problem solving techniques, team working, and in making decisions under high pressure situations.
