COVER LETTER

Respected Committee:

I am Vishal Jindal, an Electronics and Communication engineering undergraduate student from Punjab Engineering College University of Technology Chandigarh (www.pec.ac.in), a very reputed and prestigious deemed University in India. As a part of my degree curriculum, during the 6th semester I can undergo semester training.

While reasoning my intentions to pursue an internship at your firm, I would like to throw some light on my career till now. I always fancied myself with Computers right from my childhood and thought of becoming a Software Engineer got implanted in my mind at an early age. A career in Engineering seemed the most challenging and logical extension of my abilities.

Starting off with my academics, I completed my schooling from Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sr. Sec School Sector-35B Chandigarh India. My school helped me develop better in the field of science, right from the initial stages, different techno fests, science expos and I secured 95% in mathematics. Also I have secured 93.1% in 10th standard. I was given training in the basics of the operation and the applications of the computers during my school days. The various concepts that I went through with, in school, are MS Office and C fundamentals.

I had even represented my school in many competitions, including skating, roller hockey, tech-fests and talent hunt. I have been the member of the quiz team of our school that has won many competitions including Thailand quiz.

At my university I’m having a well-compiled syllabus, which placed equal emphasis on theoretical fundamentals as well as practical applications. Subjects such as Data Structures, Computer organization, Digital Design, Microprocessor and its Applications laid a solid foundation in the theoretical aspects of the subjects. Practical application aspects were introduced to me through subjects such as VLSI, virtual instrumentation, Analog. I have basic understanding of these languages C, HTML/CSS, and MYSQL, from a certified IT company “OOPS” in Chandigarh, India.

The field of application of technology is what interests me the most. I want to acquire the learning that will enable me to contribute to the development of new softwares and applications, on various platforms, which can improve efficiency and accuracy of work in varied sphere.

In the second year, I along with 2 teammates developed a Real Time Face Detector software. The exclusive feature of the project is that it can precisely differentiate between different faces. In the first year, I have developed a traffic light system using very basic flip-flops and a timer, eliminating all the complex circuits that are currently there in traffic lights.

Till 10th standard, I have made 3 working models, Chinese Nantong Stadium model, Escalator model, Cable Cars model. Nantong Stadium model and Escalator model were selected to represent my school at Chandigarh level. I worked all alone on these models and I learnt a lot like to analysis various aspects, to assemble different things together, etc

Summarizing all written above, I believe that my serious intention for study, my projects, my

certifications and strong academic background in various areas of Computer Science will be beneficial for my job. I would regard my admission as a programmer at your firm not only as a great honor but also as a great responsibility and challenge to prove myself.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

High Regards,

Vishal Jindal
