Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Mediaplanet
Project Manager
For the past 4 years, I have studied in the Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University. During my time there I specifically focused on the entrepreneurial side of business, a new and trending business program with roots stemming from top business schools, most notably, University of Pennsylvania’s, Wharton School of Business. My entrepreneurial program gave me a multi-faceted business education, ranging from Accounting/Finance, Marketing, and Management courses to more focused courses in my major such as New Venture Development, Financial and Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Business Policy and Management Consulting Field Study.
My New Venture Development and Entrepreneurship and Innovation courses allowed me the opportunity to write real business plans, and present them to real life investors. The first business I created was known as Agriminium, a real-estate/marijuana grow operation venture. I presented my idea in the Rohrer Elevator Pitch Competition and submitted my business plan in the Rohrer Business Plan Competition. Neither of these competitions led me to the cash prize for the best business plan, but they did teach me how to formulate a proper business plan, how to present my ideas, and gave me experience in speaking to possible investors for other business endeavors I may follow in my career.
The Business Policy and Management Consulting FIeld Study courses helped me analyze pre-existing businesses and industries. In my Business Policy course I had to work with a team to do two in depth industry analyses for Delta Airlines and GoPro. Both of these analyses were later presented through a PowerPoint for our class to decide whether or not these industries were financially, socially, and legally stable, and for our group to make recommendations that would help these industries and businesses in the future. During my Management Consulting course I got the opportunity to consult for a feeder program for Rowan University, known as Rowan Prep. Rowan Prep used the The Arts to attract younger students in the Gloucester County area. The program was understaffed, had almost zero social media presence, had no formal billing system, and scheduling was unorganized. During that semester my team was able to introduce a student intern program, get Rowan Prep on QuickBooks, create a contract agreement for Rowan Prep instructors, and create a foundation for the growth strategy for Rowan Prep in the future.
I thank you for taking the time to review my resume and would welcome the opportunity to speak further.
