Sample cover letter for Internship position at Michigan Health INformation Network

POSITION:

Intern

Dear Ms. Briones

I am writing to express my interest in an internship opportunity at the Michigan Health Information Network. I learned of your company through a search on the web, shared my findings with my classmates, and academic advisor. Since coming across the MiHIN one of my classmates was able to intern at the network over the winter semester.

As a healthcare administration major at the University of Michigan-Flint. I have learned about a variety of health care organizations as well as an in-depth look at the ACA. One course I really enjoyed is health informatics while this was just an introductory course on the topic it provided background information on security, electronic medical records, and meaningful use requirements. I believe interning at MiHIN would help expand the knowledge I have on the subject and provide a great internship experience in an area of interest.

Throughout my work experience, I have developed excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. I look forward to bringing what I have learned from other industries to my internship experience. I have an extensive background in Administrative support In previous positions, I have had the opportunity to work with human resources, as well as offer support for executives. The experiences expanded my understanding of a variety of policies and handling confidential information in a corporate setting. I pride myself on being a fast learner, I believe in leading by example and I strive to go above and beyond on a daily basis, providing a helping hand to co-workers in need and stepping up to take care of tough jobs.

I look forward to being able to integrate the skills I have previously obtained and to develop new skills that will help as I look to begin a career in the healthcare industry. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
