I was pleased to see your advertisement for a Job Title, and am writing to outline how my experience and successful track record as a Software Engineer, Architect, and Developer make me the ideal candidate for the position. I am currently a Technical Consultant with Altran Italia S.p.A. in Trieste, Italy, and have been assigned to direct and work on a number of projects at the client Finmeccanica S.p.A. One of my most notable achievements has been to carry WBE responsibility of real-time embedded avionic computer for a major EU funded research project. The goal was to provide a baseline of solutions for the “Unmanned Aircraft System Mid-air Collision Avoidance Function”.

While at Finmeccanica S.p.A, I also designed and developed an analyzer to convert and display data on PANAVIA avionic bus. Its current application is for diagnostic purposes but at that time, it was widely used for HUD integration to the simulator, providing debugging support, and making the activity (almost) stress-free.

Earlier positions include a Control System Engineer role with Sincrotrone Trieste S.c.P.A, where I was accountable for a beamline data collection upgrade and developed a new data acquisition software application from scratch. I ensured the efficient use of resources, and thus reduced beamline off time substantially. Thereafter I developed part of the distributed control system of Elettra's booster and FERMI facility.

As you will note from my enclosed resume, I hold a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, which is supported by an excellent working knowledge of numerous technologies including database design, GNU/Linux LAN Administration, networking, virtualization, and web development.
