I am applying for the Associate Product Manager at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group in Los Angeles, CA found on XX. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is not only known as a top notch financial group but also one that emphasizes collaboration, competition, and a team-oriented approach. This team-oriented approach, coupled with my desire to work in such a dynamic environment, convinced me to apply.
I sharpened my technical, analytical and decision-making skills while interning in a project-driven atmosphere over 7 months at the XXXt. The project was challenging and limited by budgetary constraints and lack of resources. This opportunity forced me to learn to constantly adjust to the client’s tight limitations and in an innovative manner to provide the solution. I was constantly analyzing data and communicating with the stakeholders to assess their requirements was met. Once, my internship was completed I knew within my career it would be important to not only have a technical background to make things more efficient, but also have some business exposure in order to develop communication skills and better understand the user’s experience. The business knowledge I gained at XXXX, in combination with the following skills: problem solving, ability to quickly adjust to new standards and interoffice communication, puts me in a position to contribute immediately in a team.
- Strong leadership skills: As elected Philanthropy Chair of XXX, I organized the University of XX’s first fun Run. I managed over 25 college students in order to attract over 120 runners. Not only did I interact on a weekly basis with different philanthropy heads and I also acquired local and national sponsorship from various donors. I was able to identify a problem with the struggling philanthropic scene and organize an event that would attract college students without registration fees. These efforts led to over 120 lbs of clothes being collected for woman of domestic violence and homeless veterans.
- Problem-solving ability: My education has touched on project management, business, and information systems, but the focus of the coursework was always on solving real-life problems using practical ways to understand the root of a problem in order to effectively solve it.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills: Throughout my studies and internships I have been a member of several teams. As a member of the University of XX’s judicial board, I served as liaison between students and faculty to facilitate conflict resolution between multiple parties.
