Dear Sir,
I am a student in the first year of PGP program at XYZ and I am interested in the position of Summer associate to work as a strategy consultant.
I have always wanted to choose consulting as a career option because it offers me the opportunity to work in a diverse set of fields and to be at the helm of problem solving. Consulting involves the ever challenging task of charting the future course of action for the client while addressing business issues strategically and ensuring implementability of the solution. It promises to be a great networking experience, not just due to the diversity of clientage, but also emerging from the immense global collaboration and information sharing.
Having attended talk sessions conducted by different consulting firms, I have learnt a lot about the key differentiators between the various firms. What makes monitor stand out for me is its motto of “growth driven by meritocracy”. I particularly liked the fact that Monitor solely focuses on devising strategy for the clients, since that would typically imply projects of shorter duration and thus more opportunity for me to work in a diversity of areas.
Throughout my education, I have excelled at academics. Passing out as the school topper, I also went on to become the department topper at XYZ. My first professional experience was at ABC as business analyst, which groomed me as a leader, subordinate and a peer. Being ambitious at heart and a firm believer in ethics, I like to set challenging goals and subsequently push myself to achieve them. My belief in persistence and hard work is furthered in my achievements during a brief job experience as an analyst at ABC. Here I worked in a variety of projects ranging from Financial services analytics to a detailed analytics project for the CPG/Retail industry. If I am given the opportunity to work with Monitor Deloitte, I will do my best to continue this trend in achieving effective results within challenging timelines.
