Sample cover letter for Internship position at Morgan Stanley
Summer Analyst
Dear Hiring Manager,
When I discovered the electrifying unpredictability, the thrilling competition, and the impressive network system of the business life near the end of my second year in college, I realized that I needed to quickly find an experience that would allow me to transition my legal and political skills into the field of business. Whether it is the critical ability to analyze and adjust to different situations or to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a project team, I am confident that the skills and qualities I have been able to develop through my past positions can provide unique inputs and serve as a valuable asset to the team at Morgan Stanley.
Having been involved in so many different types of organizations, I was able to think on my feet and generate creative ideas based on qualitative and quantitative analysis. When I was first promoted to the Social Media Manager position for the California Management Review, our marketing team was extremely under-staffed, our content output was notably unexciting, and our follower count was remarkably low despite our global reputation as a management journal. After researching through our past marketing approaches and the data we received from surveys, I developed a social media marketing plan that would transform our internal marketing organization and structure and at the same time emphasize brand awareness through content output and website traffic.
After months of analyzing our social media platforms, our company’s history and hierarchy of structure, and our available resources both tangible and intangible, I developed the LinkedInitiative Plan that would utilize the professional reputation of LinkedIn to connect our various platforms together. In order to achieve the LinkedInitiative, I concurrently designed and instituted the Editorial Internship Program where I was in charge of hiring interns that would serve as our freelance interns. Through this approach, I was able to augment our social media presence and awareness by over 100% in most platforms, steadily increasing with each new content strategy I develop over the weeks.
The concepts of organizational strategy that I learn in academics and the first-hand experiences I have in implementing these theories into my own leadership positions would be a consider plus for Morgan Stanley’s Firm Strategy and Execution Team. Additionally, my iron-will persistence to achieve excellence and commitment to push myself further will only serve to help contribute to Morgan Stanley’s global reputation.
I would be delighted to meet with you to discuss my qualifications and experiences and how I can contribute. Please feel free to contact me via my email address at [email protected] or via cell at 661-858-7636.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
