Sample cover letter for Internship position at Morgan Stanley

POSITION:

Financial Analyst

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest regarding the Morgan Stanley 2016 Financial Summer Analyst Program. I am currently a junior at the ***School of Business at the University of ***, majoring in Finance. I am accustomed to working in the business world, having been exposed to the realm of market and financial analyses during my time at an internship at Bank XYZ in New York City. This internship resulted in a priority offer to return the following summer even though I was one of the youngest interns at the company. This achievement is a stout indicator of my persistence, determination and ability to overcome immense obstacles.

I believe that I will excel in this position for multiple reasons.By distilling raw data and creating reports presenting actionable information, I assisted the company in choosing which clients would be suitable candidates for financing. Also, my active times spent in ***Investment Group at *** University, and in the Finance, Banking, and Investment Society at *** have provided me with an eased ability to understand and analyze market trends. I am currently excelling in relevant coursework such as Business Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, and Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis. Along with my outstanding grades in classes such as Business Law, Managerial Accounting, and Information Technology, this illustrates my seamless understanding of numbers and sharp analytical mind.

In addition to finance experience, I wrote a strong story that was published in an internationally acclaimed magazine. This highlights my expert writing and communication abilities, which are responsible for my fluid public speaking skills. These skills assist me in my role as a private SAT tutor, where I am required to not only use my analytical thinking and problem solving skills, but also to communicate these processes to students in an easy-to-understand fashion. Altogether, these experiences have provided me with a base of knowledge from which I can leverage upon to face the challenges that this fruitful internship may present. Additionally, I demonstrate a clear sense of integrity and discretion in all my endeavors and I strongly believe that the above qualities will be further refined if I am given the opportunity to spend the summer gaining knowledge and experience from your distinguished company. My goal upon graduation is to join a financial services company and Morgan Stanley is at the top of my list.

I am confident in my ability to produce top-qualitywork, take initiative to challenge myself daily, and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to obtain more insights about this field through active participation. I have attached a copy of my resume outlining my work experiences, active involvements, and other skills on your job application portal. I will be available any time at your convenience for an interview. I am available for the position from late May 2016. Thank you very much for considering my application and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Warmest Regards,

John Doe
