POSITION:

To the Recruitment department of Morgan Stanley,

My name is XXX and I’m currently enrolled in the master of finance at XX in XX.

I’m a dynamic person as the finance industry requires and I’m looking for a working environment able to challenge me every day. I’m applying for Morgan Stanley because I think it’s the perfect place to give my best. The aspect I’m fascinated most about your firm is its diversity in term of both background and personalities. Working there I can have the chance of expressing my own characteristics combining them with the ones of the other people and giving the company the possibility of leveraging them and gain superiors results. In addition, I can keep learning while working with employees coming form the most diverse university backgrounds and parts of the world. The second reason why I picked Morgan Stanley is because it’s not only profit oriented. Nowadays financial companies think only how to make money for themselves and their shareholders, forgetting about the community and the environment. I’m fascinated about your firm because it cares of them, as many volunteering and philanthropic projects demonstrate. I strongly believe that the equilibrium in everything is in the compromise, and the many initiatives of Morgan Stanly aimed to allocate private funds to sustainable enterprises while creating values for its customers make me think that I share the same view of your firm. As I learnt as professional volleyball player and form everything in my life, the keys to succeed are passion and determination, and given the own characteristics of Morgan Stanley, there are the assumptions for making me determinate and passionate in order to give my best and succeed in an internship program.

I’m applying for the Global Capital Market division because it’s the one that most fascinates me and where my own characteristics would make me best fit. I’ve always been a person with strong quantitative attitudes, during the high school I participated to the Olympic Games of Physics and Math being ranked as one of the top 5 in my region. All of that, combined with my analytical skills leveraged through many accounting courses I took, would make me able to elaborate data meeting the high standards required in order to succeed. As a professional volleyball player I had to train 4 days per week during the high school while maintaining an high GPA. It helped me in developing my ability in handling the pressure and complete the work in the best way. I’m a very precise person, I always look for excellence in everything I do and my background will help me in managing the many tasks of the Global Capital Market division gain great results. In conclusion, the communication ability I gained as main organizer of the Week of Scientific Culture will make me able to quickly explain complex ides to people even not familiar with the matter, as it can happen when relating with clients coming from different background. As part of my tasks, I had to manage many physic projects and periodically report to the board which was made by professors and school executives having no idea about engineering and physics.

I honestly think that the academic knowledge cannot be truly profitable without an on-field experience, so an internship in Morgan Stanley will represent a further and essential step in my personal and professional formation. I hope you’ll expand the knowledge of my profile through an interview, in the meanwhile I’m available for any clarification.

best regards
