Sample cover letter for Internship position at Morgan Stanley

POSITION:

Investment Banking

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is XXX and I am writing to express my strong interest on Firm Risk Management Summer Analyst program in Morgan Stanley. I am a XXX student in XXX now. I decide to pursue a challenging position which can allow me to make my impact in financial market and therefore, I have a strong desire to devote myself to your internship.

Most recently I have worked for XXX as an analyst in XXX. In the IPO strategy planning project I was assigned to some       direct exposure with both clients and IPO team from investment banking by interviews and deliverables reports. One of my remarkable experience was in a divisional strategy deliverables report with clients. I took initiative to report a divisional strategy plan to all executives from client’s division mostly by my own. For a closer scrutiny, I also helped senior consultant to initialize strategy for client’s investment banking business, dug deeply on financial data for financial projection and at the same time actively attend every discussion with client’s specialists.

Unlike Consulting area, investment banking is closer to financial market and more interactive with capital which attracts me a lot. Given my academic background in finance and professional background, I firmly believe with transferrable skills like financial analytic skills, teamwork skills, interpersonal skills and fast-learning skills, I can be a qualified summer analyst of Morgan Stanley.

I think your program will be a remarkable milestone in my career. I would appreciate it if I can join your company. If you have any question, please feel free to contact me anytime. I can be reached at xxx. Again thanks for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
