Sample cover letter for Internship position at Morgan Stanley

POSITION:

Summer Analyst

Dear Morgan Stanley recruiting team,

My name is xxx and I am a penultimate year student at the Hong Kong University of Science

and Technology. My parents are entrepreneurs, which allowed me to be exposed to multiple sides of the

business world since I was very young. What I found most fascinating were the intricacies of the difficult

financial decision making that comes with expanding a business. Because of that I found my deep interest in

finance and I decided to attend the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to expand on it, which

lead me to double concentrate in Finance and Marketing. In regards to Morgan Stanley's unparalleled global approach

in its operations, pioneering in both, finance and technology, the market research background of my Marketing

concentration will complement the Finance degree in a very practical manner, allowing me to understand the

complex methodologies used in the banking industry and provide with the analytical background to understand

and explain investment opportunities in the transforming markets.

Because of this endeavours and achievements, I was fortunate enough to receive an internship offer

from xxx, a private equity and venture capital firm in London, where, since July, I was working as a

summer and part-time analyst. At xxx I had an opportunity to assist the associates and managing

directors on several private placement deals, which equipped me with solid research, communication, analytical

and strategic planning skills as well as the ability to work in a team. Moreover, having been educated in xyz, the frequent exposure to different cultures has made me an open-minded person with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to the ever-changing environment.

If given the chance, I am confident I will be able to prove to your recruiting team that my work ethic,

academics, personal skills and talents are compatible with Morgan Stanley's high recruiting standards and that I would

be a great fit to your London office. My goal would always be to gain the most knowledge and experience from

interning with your bank while striving to add the maximum value back to you in return.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing my

qualifications in greater detail.

Yours faithfully,
