I’m a second year student studying x at x. I’m writing to apply for a position in your summer internship  in Investment Banking.

Morgan Stanley’s global presence and reputation as a top advisor attracted me because I want to work in an international environment where I can learn from people who strive to achieve the best. I attended a presentation where I was impressed by the genuine and helpful nature of the employees who spoke passionately about the firm. In addition, it invests heavily on women employees’ development for progression into higher positions. This confirmed Morgan Stanley as a place where I will be supported and given responsibilities unparalleled to other companies.

I applied to this division especially because of my exposure to mergers and acquisitions through x where I learned of the dynamics behind buying and selling companies. Morgan Stanley is regularly involved in ground-breaking deals such as advising AstraZeneca against Pfizer’s which could have been the largest deal in pharmaceutical industry. Rather than analysing stocks/bonds, it involves studying the health of a whole company using judgment so my contribution can bring results which can create a domestic/global impact.

The characteristic that differentiates me is my commitment; I give my 100% no matter how big or small a task is. In a x, I x. Moreover, I possess an understanding of different cultures since I have lived in x  which is extremely vital for building relationship with clients. Using this knowledge, I was able to bring out the best in candidates when I had to recruit for x event. Overall, I’m open to criticisms and motivated to develop myself continuously.
