I am writing in response to your job advertisement for the position of a Quantitative Analyst internship mailed to xyz.I am a motivated master student studying MSc in Computational Finance with a year in industry who is eager to start my career in the Finance sector, and determined to apply for the possibility to do a Quantitative Analyst Placement for one of the leading financial service company in the world.
During, my bachelor degree I implemented neural network to predict the stock price and also presented a technical paper at a competition and won the 2nd price for the implementation. Recently, I completed a project which involved analysing Auto data set to predict mpg given horsepower, weight, year, and origin using Neural network for regression and linear regression in R. In order for me to interpret the results based on this data, I taught myself how to use the R language. This has given me the confidence that I can rapidly learn new skills when required to do so. Overall, I have achieved 65% for this piece of work.
The seminar conducted by you fascinated me by the finance sector and the complexity and thrive it comes with. The possibility to determine financial strategies at an executive level, finding solutions for financing questions, the art of valuation and the excitement of the negotiation process truly passionate me. Furthermore, I appreciate the goal-orientated nature of this sector, as well as the wide range of skills set required for the different phases.
