I am contacting you in order to apply for the Social Media Internship position that is currently available with the Toronto Independent Music Awards. My educational and professional background, which focus on writing and online marketing within the music industry, make me an excellent candidate for this position.

During my time as an undergraduate student at the University of xxx, I have acquired various transferable skills that I believe will prove useful and relevant in this internship. As an English major, I excel in written and verbal communication and organization. I have also attained an appreciation for attention to detail and timeliness that will continue to help me do well and succeed in my my future academic and professional endeavors. My Marketing Management minor has further enhanced my communication skills, as well as assisted in developing my practical understanding of social perception and media influence.

Most importantly, my time as an undergraduate student (in both academic and extra-curricular settings) has allowed me to develop and mature as a professional individual. I am highly motivated and am an all-around enthusiastic student with excellent academic and interpersonal skills. I understand that qualities such as creativity and commitment are needed in order to be successful in this internship, and I believe that my academic and professional experiences to-date have prepared me well for this field.

I am goal-oriented, self-disciplined, and above all, I am passionate about music. I am currently a blogger for a Toronto online music magazine, as well as a talent scout for an A&R division of Universal Music Group. This opportunity with the Toronto Independent Music Awards is one that strongly correlates with the skills I currently possess, while also allowing for significant personal and professional development in an industry I am passionate about. I would be very grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow through this internship with the TIMAs.
