Sample cover letter for Internship position at NABARD

I am a recent BBA graduate in “International Business for Emerging Markets” from the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, the Netherlands. While this degree has provided me with a strong background in traditional economics and business administration, it has also given me the opportunity to develop complementary skills in the field of microfinance, rural marketing and entrepreneurship. Moreover, I seized the opportunity to go on a student exchange to the NMIMS University in Mumbai. Getting to know Indian culture and its business climate not only sparked my interest for Indo-German development cooperation, but also introduced me to the role and functions of DFIs such as NABARD.

My recent working experience at the Rabobank Foundation and my participation at the European Microfinance Week 2013 have enhanced my knowledge in agricultural and rural finance and increased my awareness of current trends and challenges in smallholder cooperative financing. In fact, the internship at the Rabobank Foundation has given me first hand insights into the management of various rural finance projects and also allowed me to write my bachelor thesis on impact measurement in a Food & Agri investment fund. Besides, the fact that I was a founding member of a student initiative pertaining sustainability displays my willingness and ability to take initiative and shows my enthusiasm for environmental issues and sustainable management.
