Sample cover letter for Internship position at NBC Universal

POSITION:

Intern

Dear Hiring Manager,

My name is XXX and I am very excited to apply for the News Associates position with NBC Universal. I understand that, as one of the leading media companies in the world, NBCU reaches a regular global viewership of millions. Within in its established prominence, NBC continues to champion the importance of diversity. I think that says a lot about the drive and principle an organization. I consider broadcast journalism to be one of the most important tools for creating positive change in the world and establishing an informed global citizenry. I believe that NBCU has a leading role in this process.

I will complete my BA in Political Science from XXX in XXX, and will pursue a career in news production. As you can see from my resume, I am currently working as a news production assistant at XXX, the largest Asian-language broadcast station in the United States. Simultaneously, I am also a contributor for the XXX, through which I publish weekly articles related to Asian American affairs. In my opinion, the Asian American perspective is immensely underrepresented in American media and its advancement is one of the main drives in my passion for television news production. I believe I can do so through NBC’s demonstrated commitment towards diversity.

I am confident that my skills and interests can add to the integrity and innovation of NBC Universal. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, as I would welcome to opportunity to meet with you to discuss the position. I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

XXX
