Dear Ms. Catherine Halberstadt,
I am a Master’s degree student at EDHEC Business School in Finance and I would like to apply for the internship position as Covered Bond Assistant Analyst at Natixis in Paris. I just came back from an exchange program at Pace University in New York with a major in Financial Markets and I am available from now.
Studying finance next to Wall Street this last semester was the best experience of my life: I realized how much I enjoy the financial world. Indeed, I met a lot of professionals who shared their experiences with me as well as my finance classes taught me not only all the theory about financial instruments but also to monetize a view from markets and financial analysis. Reading finance news even became my relaxing time in the train and my curiosity about finance was growing everyday. This position would be a great opportunity to do what I am passionate about: developing investment strategy. I am confident that I will learn a lot from Natixis: the cross-approach research of Natixis has just been awarded again this month for its excellence - among the Top 5 in covered bonds.
This position is well-suited for me. Specifically, through my scientific preparatory school, I developed strong quantitative skills and the ability to work under pressure, both essential in the analyst role. This scientific background taught me the need to be rigorous and precise. Lately, I outperformed in pairs trading projects for each of the major asset classes. These projects were the best way to put into practice my knowledge of the financial instruments and markets. This developed also my proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel.
With my sales experiences at Christian Dior and my own website company, I improved my communication and writing skills. In both experiences, I engaged in client-facing roles with rigorous attention to detail. Last but not least, as a member of two student associations at EDHEC, I organized events with my team for more than 1,200 students, this would not have been possible without a great teamwork and organizational skills.
