I learnt about your need for interns on your application system. I am currently studying under economics track from QMSS program (Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences) at Columbia University. The position interests me the most in that I admire very much the reputation Compass Lexecon has in the industry and working in here would hone my skills and enrich my experience. Also, I strongly believe that my education background and research experience are appropriate for this position.

Before entering Columbia University, I double majored in economics and mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study at Wuhan University in China. I enjoy a lot out of the process of identifying problems and developing plans for improvement with the cooperation of my team members. I have excellent communication skills. I am good at applying knowledge across different situations to create innovative ideas. Also, I am a quick learner. I first learnt R about two semesters ago. But last semester, I did the project “The influence of parental education and family income on children’s achievement” utilizing data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID), which requires proficient use of R programming language in cleansing and processing data. The project was highly appraised by my instructor Professor Gregory Eirich.
