I have had an ongoing interest in pursuing an opportunity that would allow me to expand my business acumen and work in an innovative, professional environment. That being said, I found the description for the Finance and Accounting Development Program posted on the Nestlé Careers website intriguing and a perfect match for my future career plans.

As a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where I received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics, I learned to utilize tools important for data analysis. In many courses, I was required to compute the significance of a set of numbers and analyze their meaning using common Economic models. Being an Economics major, I learned to understand the global economy and the behaviors of all its components. Most importantly, my major gave me the opportunity to learn and to expand my knowledge in a variety of topics, including public policy, education, and energy.

In addition to my coursework in Economics, my involvement in different organizations has helped me develop my communication and leadership skills. As a Pledge Training Chair for Sigma Beta Chi, a professional women’s fraternity, I was responsible for communicating club information to new members throughout the duration of their pledging process. Within this position I was able to practice my skills with Microsoft Excel, maintaining spreadsheets containing new member information. As President for NU-Transition, I was responsible for overseeing the program budget and effectively communicating the issues of transfer students to the rest of the University. This position allowed me to gain experience with budgeting and condensing the demands of many individuals to represent an entire group. This is just a brief list of some of the experiences and interactions I had during my time at The University of Michigan.
