Sample cover letter for Internship position at Nestle
Analyst
I am writing in response to general application process advertised by Dalberg on their website. I wish to apply for the position of an Associate Analyst at the company.
I am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in xxx at the xxx. I want to pursue a career in Development Consulting as it would allow me to apply all the knowledge and skills I have acquired through a thorough education in the subject to solve real world issues. In addition to this, development consulting is a sector that is fast gaining importance and holds tremendous potential for further advancement. This would be an ideal career choice for me as it satisfies both rational constraints relating to future scope, as well as intellectual constraints relating to an inclination towards applied Economics, Development and Quantitative Analysis.
The first time I came across the work done by Dalberg was while interacting with a former employee of the company, xxx, at xxx. On her insistence, I went through the company blog and the research reports. One of the key factors that attracted me about the company is its emphasis on cutting edge research to cater to the needs of the client and its ability to provide innovative solutions for complex developmental issues. Further research into the work done by the company in other spheres like inclusive growth, access to finance and mobiles for development convinced me that Dalberg is the company I want to work for. I wish to start my career at Dalberg because it ticks all the boxes: opportunities, day-to-day learning, healthy work environment, challenging projects, travel prospects, and mostly, a chance to make a difference socially, economically and intellectually.
I feel confident that I would be able to meet the challenges of working at Dalberg. Balancing academic excellence with extracurricular activities throughout high school and my undergraduate programme has made me very disciplined and accustomed to pressure and deadlines. I have a strong foundation in economic and quantitative analysis that developed not only through a rigorous training in the subject, but also through practical applications. For instance, while interning with the legal team at the xxxx, I developed an energy debt model that focused on the role of inefficiencies in transmission and distribution and its consequences for the power projects. In addition to the quantitative modeling, the next big challenge was to communicate the inherent ideas to the Legal and Project Finance team who had no previous background in the subject. The sure sign of success was that my research paper was published in the xxx Legal Journal. In addition to this, working with the xxxx team as well as other student societies at Oxford has made me very comfortable with working with people of different backgrounds and opinions towards a common objective. Having been a part of numerous editorial boards as well as the Editor-in-Chief of the xxx newsletter, I am confident that I possess the written skills that working at Dalberg entails. I hope to play an active role in the future progress of Dalberg, and look forward to hearing from you soon about my candidacy.
Yours sincerely,
