Sample cover letter for Internship position at Nielsen Media

POSITION:

Intern

February 9, 2015

Dear Ms. Doey,

After attending Nielsen’s information session on February 3, I am well aware of Nielsen’s innovative and results-focused culture. I am convinced that I possess the creativity, quick thinking and sharp customer focus required to succeed at Nielsen. With that said, I am very interested in an internship with the Professional Services Analytics Program and would like to be considered for a position. I believe you will find my diverse professional experiences and personal strengths would align with Nielsen’s excellent traditions.

I have great interest in problem solving of all types and have sought out challenging, analytical coursework in a variety of departments including economics, Arabic language, and journalism. I have also had the opportunity to develop many of the "soft skills" that a Nielsen intern needs through my work as an administrative intern at Worldwide Investor Network (WIN), tutor and through my extensive volunteering experience.

In addition to my coursework, I have been involved in analytical efforts over the course of three summer internships. As an administrative assistant directly to the CEO at my internship with WIN, I performed in-depth market fieldwork and regularly presented my findings to clients. I analyzed consumer response data and advised clients on how to improve their product brand strategy. Additionally, I compiled an exhaustive database of business incubators and helped organize and manage WIN’s Summer Startup Conference. At HSMPR, I facilitated interactions between VIP guests, press, and designers during Spring NYFW 2014. My work and involvement at HSMPR, furthermore, fostered my problem- solving skills and interpersonal skills.

The excellent analytical, management and teamwork skills I have developed while at the University of JaneDoe will help me contribute to Nielsen’s growth as a leading information and measurement company. I would greatly appreciate being considered for an internship position in the Professional Services Analytics Program. If you would like to reach me, please feel free to call (555) 555-5555, or e-mail [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Jane Doe II
