I am interested in applying for the Communications Internship Program with Novelis in Atlanta.­ I am currently a junior at the University of Alabama majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Computing Tech and Applications.

This semester, I have been a writer and reporter for The Tab Alabama, a digital news media company that allows students to showcase their writing to thousands of potential readers. At this moment, I am the #1 most read reporter on The Tab Alabama, generating the most page-views out of any writer. As an intern at Novelis, I could apply my ability to write effectively to convey information in exciting ways.

With nearly five years of extensive experience within the customer service industry, I am adept at problem solving in a fast-paced environment and very comfortable working under deadlines that require perfection. Press releases must be sent out without a single error and client service must be nothing less than excellent. As a motivated and goal-oriented leader, I will make sure those standards are continuously upheld. The skill set that I’ve acquired through my background in the customer service industry would be easily transferable to a company such as Novelis.

Academically, I have been able to enhance my communication skills by constantly writing for my journalism courses. I work closely with my teaching assistant to edit and perfect my writing, which requires extreme attention to detail. This gives me an advantage because I receive valuable feedback, which directly contributes to my strong journalistic capabilities and knowledge of AP style.
