After reaching the finals of the 2015/16 OC&C consulting challenge and getting acquainted with associate consultants and partners of the firm, I am certain that entering the consulting profession at OC&C Strategy Consultants is the best choice for me. At the same time, my drive and motivation combined with proven analytical and leadership skills will prove to be an asset to the company.

After my undergraduate degree in International Business Administration at the Vienna School of Business and Economics, I completed my postgraduate education at Alliance Manchester Business School in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. Manchester’s business school is ranked as the top business school outside the South-East of the UK according to the FT world business school rankings, and I was able to finish the course as best in class, with a GPA of over 75. During my studies I was elected as a board member of the official AMBS Technology, Media and Telecommunications club and I reached the finals of both a Manchester-wide innovation challenge as well as the OC&C Consulting competition. While my university education gave me a solid foundation in topics from financial appraisal to strategic management, I was able to put my knowledge into practice at various internships. Among other things, during my time at a pharmaceuticals wholesaler in Russia I was able to prove my proficiency in financial analysis. Furthermore, while working in FMCG at Henkel GmbH I was valued highly for my verbal and written presentation skills as well as structured problem solving abilities.

Now it is my professional goal to enter into the field of strategy consulting. While there are many professions I could enter into with my background, the opportunity to work together with a team of highly skilled colleagues on challenging business problems is very enticing. I chose OC&C Strategy Consultants as the optimal company to start off my career in consulting due to a number of reasons. First, the commitment to solving high level strategic problems and the formidable industry standing, ranked as 5^th in Vault’s European Consulting rankings 2015, speak for the quality of the firm. Secondly, the broad set of customers which is growing globally will offer me the opportunity to gain insights into a diverse range of industries. Last but not least, the entrepreneurial and collegial company culture which was praised by my mentor during the OC&C case challenge, Joe Seager, is a factor I value highly in any employer.

My personal skills, which include complex problem solving, leadership & communication skills, make me a perfect match for the consulting profession. Most recently I was able to demonstrate my abilities during my postgraduate degree, as the VP of the Technology, Media and Telecoms club in addition to leading teams to success as part of the MSc and in extra curricula activities.

In light of the skills elaborated on above and my motivation to apply them at OC&C Strategy Consultants, I believe that I will be a valuable asset to the company.
