I was pleased to learn of your need for dedicated entry-level consultants as I have been constantly seeking for an opportunity like this. I became interested in management consulting after working in financial management department of Samsung Electronics for approximately 18 months. Instead of focusing only on financial matters of one firm, I am more enthusiastic to apply my analytical skills to provide enterprise strategies in broad vision to clients of top global companies. I’d love to take the risk of changing career to start over at where my passion lies. At the global leading management consulting firm, I believe can learn and excel the most as I walk on my career path of becoming a select management consultant.

During my eighteen months with Samsung Electronics, I was able to get direct experience regarding financial management of global company. By thoroughly forecasting and analyzing sales for each ongoing project, I was able to understand how a management department functions to maximize its profit by adopting various long-term and short-term strategies. In addition, providing weekly reports to upper management regarding my data analysis to recommend or alert business risks gave me valuable experience as to not only analyzing data but also clearly communicating my understanding of the situation and recommendation.

As an analyst intern in the investment banking department of UBS Securities, I was able to gain understanding of a variety of financial transactions. Working in an environment in which limited manpower and several on-going deals kept the office busy all the time, I was able to learn much about financial transactions in relatively short period of time. I assisted team members on deals ranging from M&A to equity financing and IPO. Analyzing clients’ transactions through data mining provided me with valuable approaches when studying the market.

At Oliver Wyman, I believe I have something to contribute though I have a lot more to learn from. Having spent the half my school years in Korea and the other half in the U.S., I believe I can bring a variety of angles of perspective to Oliver Wyman. Not only, do I understand and embrace diversity and globalism through my experience overseas, but also have learned to perform in hierarchical Korean working environment through several work experiences in Korea. I want to learn more and I believe I have a lot to learn from Oliver Wyman. I also believe that it is the right place where I can get the answers for the next steps that I must take in order to continue with my passion. From Oliver Wyman, I want to learn how to function as a part of consulting team, and develop into a more solid researcher and analyst.
