I am a final year student at the ...., studying Accounting and Finance. I am writing to express my interest in the entry-level consultant position at Oliver Wyman in 2017.

I relate closely and am very taken by the entrepreneurial spirit promoted by Oliver Wyman. It enhances the inquisitive mind and encourages creativity. By doing so, it puts consultants in the clients’ shoes, and therefore provides the best implementable strategies. The same entrepreneurial spirit played a huge role in my 5-day business project on a limited budget of £30. Moreover, being the fastest growing in the top-tier consulting firm, Oliver Wyman dynamic working environment is an attractive environment for bright and driven minds. Such an environment will shape my mind-set towards success and self-development, especially in the areas of technical skills and presentation. I am very enthusiastic and flexible towards the staffing model and the unique global mobility, as this will also provide me a wide multicultural learning experience.

My course and experiences have equipped me with the fundamental knowledge on how to assess companies from their financial reports, and I am very comfortable analysing numerical information. My role at Bank Indonesia for a month as a research analyst allowed me to work with big amount of data from a thorough research. I also analysed the data based on the quantitative and qualitative factors. Examples of my reports include the impact of negative interest rates in the EU, the adverse impacts of Brexit, the effects of contactless payment, as well as evaluation of UK and EU economies. I crafted the reports in Indonesian and English so that it could be used by the central bank to implement monetary policies. This experience has taught me to take initiative, work well under pressure, and flexible to the time constraint whenever the situation demanded it.

Furthermore, I participated in one of Enactus Warwick Consulting in a team of 6. As the project progresses and our team assisted the client to solve business issues, I discovered that I enjoy the challenging tasks I faced, as they motivate me to think outside the box and challenge myself to my utmost limit. Ultimately, the experience provided me with the satisfaction as our solutions offered positive impacts to our client. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to financially manage a 5 day waffle business project in a team of 19. In the project, I analysed and utilised the most effective method to manage the £30 budget to maximise profit. Thus, I cooperated with the marketing and operational teams to manage the budget for promotional materials and our ingredients. I also forecasted the ingredients required to cope with the daily demand and continuously revised it. Thus, this project developed my communication and team working skills as well as enhancing my interpersonal skills. As a result, we managed to generate £447.88 of profits and ROI of 1,493%, which was donated to local charities.
