To Whom It May Concern,

I first looked into Oliver Wyman last month, because until then I was extremely focussed on interning at an asset management company. After having worked at DSP BlackRock, I now knew that it isn’t for me. Until my conversation with xxxxx xxxxx at career fair this year, I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next. But I found common ground with her immediately, and that is what cemented my interest in consulting and Oliver Wyman. I am thus writing to you in application for the summer intern position as an entry level consultant.

For me, the most attractive feature about consulting, is the dynamic nature of the industry. The idea of solving different problems for different clients, and coming up with solutions for them in a team is an exciting and unique proposition. Having different challenges and a wide range of courses to choose from is exactly why I am an Arts and Sciences student here at xxxxx. I have always had varied interests, and I love learning about subjects across different fields. I’ve taken Greek Mythology, Short Stories (Writing), Modern Asian History, and this semester I’m taking Competition Law and Policy at the Law School. Combined with my Economics, Business and Real Estate coursework, I believe it makes me a very well rounded student. I was even Physics, Chemistry and Math courses in high school. I love the idea of having a unique set of challenges in each case. For these reasons, I think I would make for a good consulting intern.

My professional experience includes the internship at xxx xxxxxx last summer, and my on-campus experience through the clubs I am a part of on campus. Despite knowing that I did not want to do what the employees in the office were doing (Sales), the work I was given was analytical, and I was able to learn a lot from the company conferences and the senior members of my team.

I firmly believe that my creative problem solving skills, diverse selection of courses, and professional experiences give me a great platform to excel as an analyst at Oliver Wyman.
