Dear ATK,

I would like to apply for a summer internship with ATK. I learned about your company through reading an article on Business Insider regarding your Aerospace Group.

I am an aspiring Mechanical Engineer with a planned college graduation in May 2017. Currently attending Columbia State College enrolled in the Engineering Tennessee Transfer Pathway, carrying 3.8 GPA and on the Deans List for the entire attendance. After obtaining my Associates degree in Engineering, I plan to further my studies in Mechanical Engineering at Tennessee Technological University with a concentration in Aerospace Engineering.

I am a detail oriented, goal driven and self-motivated individual who is capable of carrying out tasks with minimal direction. Playing competitive golf since I was 5 years old, I have learned how to deal with disappointment, frustration and challenging situations. This experience has taught me that you get out of life what you put into it. The amount of practice, patience and fortitude that it takes to play competitive golf has been transferred to my education and personal life. These attributes will help me succeed throughout my academic and professional careers.
