Dear Recruiting Manager:

I am writing to apply for the Sales Manager position at P&G Korea. I graduated from Michigan University with bachelor’s degree in hotel management. As a loyal follower of P&G brands, I have a strong interest in planning and executing the strategies that will bring more Korean consumers to use products provided by P&G. I would like to share my past experiences to demonstrate why I am the right fit for the Sales Manager position at P&G Korea.

Military experience in Korea provided me with the ability to lead people. As cogwheels smoothly engage with each other to turn the hands of the clock, successful military operation requires seamless cooperation among the soldiers. As the helicopter gunner squad leader, I had the responsibility of blending different characters and talents into one cohesive squad. I learned through this experience that every individual possesses unique skills and can shine if the leader understands the true value of each member of the team.

Working at MindConnect, a mobile application startup I co-founded in 2013, taught me the importance of setting the right atmosphere to spur creativity and generate unbiased ideas. I adopted a unique system in which members shared their ideas in writing with only me instead of with the rest of the team. Knowing that other members would not hear their ideas, my rather self-conscious teammates were able to be more frank in sharing their thoughts, generating numerous creative ideas particularly in the UI/UX designing process.

I believe both military and startup experiences have equipped me with adequate skills and talents to excellently carry out the Sales Manager job at P&G Korea. In addition, I have also taken courses such as Human Resources Management, Management Communication, and Organizational Behavior, which have provided me with appropriate communication and analytical skills fit for P&G Korea’s Sales Manager Opportunity.
