I am writing to apply for the 2016 Summer Internship opportunity at Strategy&, as was advertised on PwC careers event in XXXXX this October.

I am a 3rd-year student at XXXXX University, studying XXXXXXX course. The nature of my degree allows me to grasp a diverse outlook on organisational aspects, as well as core knowledge of the subjects such as corporate finance or accounting. The degree structure allowed me to study other disciplines, namely XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX, allowing me to develop interest and knowledge in these areas and enabling me to have a multi-perspective view on the business environment.

I have experience in leadership roles since college. Currently, I hold a president’s position in a university-based charity society called “XXXXXXX”. As a president, I am responsible for overseeing all the Society's activities, ensuring compliance to the Society's set of values, and implementing our long-term strategy for continued success. In essence, I strive to bring together students in XXXXXXX, who wish to support charitable causes by raising awareness of problems and developing a giving-back culture within our society and members. As a merit to our success, this year the club won the regional "XXXXXXX" award, which covers the whole XXXXXXX. In my current role, I strive to bring together students who wish to support charitable causes around the world by raising awareness and fundraising, meanwhile developing leadership and team-working skills.

My previous work experience was in XXXXXXX, where I worked as an XXXXXXX, calculating balance sheets. At that role, I practiced my certified skills of using Microsoft Office and these allowed to enhance spreadsheet formulas employed at a workplace.

Furthermore, I believe that my emerging entrepreneurial interest will be of benefit to Strategy&, having developed my business understanding by participation in several enterprises so far, ranging from a XXXXXXX start-up to currently developing a small business venture related to XXXXXXX.

What I admire most in the Strategy& department is its commitment to deliver practical results and people-oriented corporate culture that drives employees to excel in their area of responsibility. At the same time, while being a part of this culture, your department provides an opportunity to being able to make a difference by supporting charities and building sustainable future. The company with such a long history behind and which receives awards for its excellence year on year despite a change of organisational ownership in 2014 cannot be a wrong destination to apply.

My interest to PwC and specifically to Strategy& division started with attending PwC’s career events, introducing what kind of people are comprised in the company, and I hope that this was a start of a long-lasting relationship.

I feel that I can add value to your organisation and qualify for skills required at the internship position, whereas it perfectly fits my professional ambitions and provides an opportunity to demonstrate a potential for long-term engagement with Strategy&.
