This spring in my Tax Accounting (ACCTG 321) class, I had the responsibility for advising my client in regard to his tax effects of a like-kind exchange decision. I learned to be meticulously detail oriented and prudent in my calculation and preparation of documents for tax purposes. As a result I successfully achieved excellence in the class under a tight schedule of work and school and earned a high grade, both overall and for the project in particular.

In addition, I had the opportunity training and working at the Liberty Tax Service, where I gained my exposure to the field of personal taxation. At the job, I assumed various responsibilities, ranging from safeguarding important source documents, reconciling invoices, to interviewing clients effectively and computing their tax liabilities accurately, with full compliance with the federal Internal Revenue Codes and local requirements. I familiarized myself with a variety of W-2, 1099, K-1, various schedules, and other forms. I learned to have a positive attitude and take ownership of the tasks to which I was assigned with minimal supervision. As a result, I became the youngest tax preparer at the Seattle branch who accomplished more than 60 returns, error free, in one season.
