Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Pulkit, a 4th year undergraduate student in the Department of Ocean Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. I am writing to express my sincere interest in joining Parthenon as an Associate. I am keen to gain a deeper insight into a career as an Associate due to its intellectual rigor and have decided to apply to Parthenon because of its global reputation for excellence.

A career in consultancy is characterized by the tackling of a wide variety of business problems using analytical and reasoning skills to provide solutions for clients. One of the things which attracted me to this profession is the variety enjoyed by working across numerous industries with numerous clients and the opportunity to make a real impact in shaping these industries.

I have always embraced the opportunity to contribute and make an impact in real-life issues and my attitude towards the tasks I have undertaken has been purely goal oriented. For instance, last summer, I worked on an Analytics project – “Twitter Sentimental Analysis” at Analytics Vidya and my efforts led to a research paper in the Proceedings of The IEEE International Symposium on Nanoelectronic and Information Systems (iNIS), 2015. During the summer of 2014, I undertook Summer Research Internship at the Shell, Bombay, where I worked on "Investigation of liberation patterns of complex binary phase ores using geometric simulations", using JAVA. I was commended for my work by the Director himself.

As the Head of the Design Team, Rendezvous 2015, the annual cultural fest of BIT Kharagpur, I worked with a team of 5 people and led a team of 16 members responsible for the creation of designs specific to various occasions during the ongoing academic year, along with the UX design of official website of Rendezvous 2015. My experience helped me to hone my team working and team building skills.

Furthermore, I have also been a member of the CASE Study Team of Badal Hall of Residence, BIT Kharagpur, and was part of the Silver Medal winning team in the Inter Hall Technology General Championship 2014. I believe, working in a highly reputed firm as Parthenon would provide the right platform for me to learn, experience and grow.
