Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Prudential

Dear Hiring Manager,

It is with great enthusiasm that I am writing today to ask you to consider me for the full-time Real Estate Investment Analyst position within Prudential Mortgage Capital Company. I am a current senior in The Ross School of Business at Michigan University majoring in Finance and Management while pursuing a concentration in entrepreneurial studies. While I had a very successful internship this past summer for Merrill Lynch, it was my previous summer internship that fostered my interest in real estate.

My initial attraction to finance came from my father’s work in Investment Banking, followed by my exposure to finance and so much more at Michigan. My internship at Merrill Lynch this summer was an incredible learning experience as I was faced with numerous projects and detailed investment analyses for our top clients. I also read Michael Lewis’, The Big Short, and was captivated by the collapse of subprime mortgage lending due to the structural flaws in the mortgage financing chain and the poor lack of regulation of lending standards. All of this exposure has really clarified for me what really motivates me and has further fueled my desire to be in Real Estate. I am currently enrolled in a dynamic Real Estate Finance class which has been a gateway to learn more about commercial and corporate real estate, the leasing process, and management. My experience in the demanding hospitality industry has enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills, and I am quite comfortable interacting with and engaging clients in any situation.

I am currently scheduled to graduate in May of 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Management.
