Sample cover letter for Internship position at PwC

POSITION:

TAS

This internship represents to me the perfect opportunity to further myself as both a student and a person, resonating with my career aspirations and desire to constantly pursue new and exciting opportunities. Over two years into my tertiary education, I already cannot wait to be a part of the business world and obtain invaluable, hands-on experience. Having regularly talked to friends who have been interns or cadets in the past, their recounts and anecdotes paint a picture much more vivid than any Finance lecture or textbook could possibly offer. I believe that I have been diligent in preparing myself for this next step through my studies and extracurricular commitments and am ready to experience it for myself at a large international firm such as PwC.

Finance in particular is an area I have become very passionate about, inspired by my experiences overseas in some of the world’s largest financial hubs. I was able to witness for myself the global impact of financial transactions on not just the markets but on the lives of everyday people – a standout memory being the miserable state of the Tokyo CBD in the wake of the Japanese stock market slump in 2016. It was a poignant reminder of the sheer power of the markets that I had become determined to build a career around. I am driven to develop my skill-set professionally to become a valuable contributor in such a demanding environment and the attachment represents a perfect chance to do so.

I believe that my personal strengths will allow me to thrive and make a genuine impression. I pride myself on my critical thinking and adaptability, having consulted through Enactus for a non-profit that had a fantastic cause but was rife with problems. My interpersonal skills allow me to excel within teams, coordinating large scale events for the biggest business societies on campus. On the other hand, juggling university and a bevy of societal commitments has also made me an organized and efficient individual worker. There would be no better way for me to professionally develop these skills than to work with and learn from like-minded people while learning the ins and outs of an established organization. It would be a priceless experience for my development as both a professional and a human being, and I would absolutely love to be a part of it over the summer break.
