Sample cover letter for Internship position at Quinte Waste Solutions

I first heard of the position this morning through xxxxxx and it is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for an opportunity with Quinte Waste Solutions. As a current student within Communications at the University of Ottawa, I know that my diverse skills and qualifications will make me an asset to the team. I am currently in the final days of my four-year degree and will be graduating in June with an Honours Bachelor Degree, double major in Communications and Criminology.

In terms of future plans, I am pursuing my passion for communications and plan to attend the post-graduate Public Relations program at xxxxx in the fall. With that said, I am very eager to gain as much knowledge and experience in the field as I can. Being employed as a special events and outreach assistant would not only make the most of my experience thus far, it would also provide greater opportunity for my future. I believe that this position would provide me with the skill set, network, and experience needed to not only start - but also to be successful within a PR/communications career.

In exchange, I would offer exceptional communication skills, a talent for multitasking and handling complex projects, meticulous attention to detail and an open mind. These skills and attributes have been developed over time not only through previous employment but also during my undergrad with courses such as "Communication Planning" and "Advanced Public Relations" having been requirements. With that said, I am also proficient within all Microsoft Office and Photoshop programs. I have personal experience and am very well-read in social media, coordinating presentations and graphic design.

Overall, I am a very ambitious, friendly and charismatic individual who would absolutely love the opportunity to be able to intern at OSEG! As far as qualifications go, I am a G Class driver with a clean abstract and am 22 years old. In addition, I am willing to work in any environment and am flexible to work on weekends and irregular work hours.
