After seeing the posting for the RN position on your Trauma ICU, I recognize it would be an excellent opportunity to further my career. While working at _____, I have encompassed the many roles of a nurse: an advocate, teacher and caregiver. Working at RIH, I am confident I can bring compassion and hard work to the unit as the hospital helps me mature into an experienced nurse.

I graduated in May of 2014 from ________ with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. By caring for patients from neonates to the elderly, I have learned to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate patients across the lifespan. After graduation, I was accepted into the New Graduate Program at ______. The program provided a support system with other new graduate nurses, nurse educators and preceptors as I made the transition from a new graduate into a novice nurse. Upon completion of the program, I was hired on a 25-bed surgical floor specializing in bariatric, gastrointestinal, and thoracic surgeries.

In a field such as nursing, which is ever changing, passion is what drives us into research and continued education programs to enhance our knowledge and ensure that every patient is receiving the most effective care available. I am passionate about nursing and the significant difference that nurses make in people’s lives every day. It would be an honor to become a part of your well recognized organization where I can enhance my clinical judgment and assessment skills and shape me into a well-rounded nurse.
