To Whom It May Concern:

My name is X, and I am junior at University of Virginia pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Corporate Strategy. I have a strong passion for finance and am currently looking for a summer internship in this field. I would like the opportunity to work for a firm with a strong team-based culture, that will both foster my professional development and help me reach my full potential.

As a result of both my professional and academic pursuits, I believe that I have developed unique skills that will allow me to succeed at Raymond James. 

This past summer, I worked as a corporate finance intern at Major League Baseball Advanced Media Headquarters in Secaucus, New Jersey. Through auditing bills and expense reports, tracking clients’ growth rates, and assisting in the executive planning of the 2015 All Star Games, I was able to gain a unique perspective on the daily financial operations of a major corporation like MLB Network.

At IntraWorlds, a talent management software company, I worked as an independent marketing contractor throughout my sophomore year. I primarily managed their social media platforms as well as researched and analyzed their competitors. Balancing this position with my schoolwork strengthened my work ethic, particularly in time management. Third, as a marketing intern at a commercial real estate company Cassidy Turley during the summer of 2014, I augmented my research skills and macroeconomic knowledge through analyzing and interpreting local and national real estate data. Finally, as the TA for the Fundamentals of Management class, I have assisted in teaching and grading over 70 students.

I believe these experiences combined with my collaborative work ethic and economic knowledge have given me the necessary competencies to thrive in Raymond James' high performance culture and I am eager to further employ and hone my skills.
