Attn: Software Engineer I (52950BR)

Raytheon

To Whom It May Concern:

The Software Engineering position to support the Global positioning program advertised on your website appears

to be an excellent fit with my career interests. As you can see from my attached resume, I have specific experience

and personal qualifications that this position in software engineering calls for, especially educational qualifications

for this position.

I will receive my B.S. in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering/Product Management

from University of Delaware May 2015. In addition to my major, I took courses in Oral Communications, Technical

Writing and Communications, Organizational Behavior, and Introduction to Leadership, which sharpened my

communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, my working experiences (Kumon, Abercrombie & Fitch,

Okura Japanese Restaurant and Cuisine) have given me practical experience in customer relations, and reinforced

my ability to interact with people ranging from children to adults. I also had the opportunity to use my technical

skills to build many internal Quality Assurance functions at SevOne.

I am able to take on multiple activities and responsibilities simultaneously. While enrolled as a full time student at

Delaware Technical and Community College for the first two years of my college career with a workload of at least

19 credits a semester, I worked 25 hours a week. This year at the University of Delaware, I have been chosen as a

chapter leader for my fellowship of over 60 students. I am also a Career Ambassador, where my responsibilities

include coordinating and delivering presentations regarding UD Career Services to student organizations, and

raising awareness about Career Service events such as career fairs and workshops. I am a founding member of the

UD Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers in Spring 2014, and currently serve as president. Through SASE, I was

able to interact with Raytheon and pursue my passion for building technology. I also was a cornerstone in

chartering my fraternity at University of Delaware, and currently serve as the social chair. I was able to utilize my

strong networking skills and connections to organize inter-collegiate social events with schools such as Temple,

Drexel, and Rutgers. Aside from these many student organizations, I also work 20 hours a week at SevOne. These

experiences strengthened me, and have taught me the value of time management and shown me the rewards of

hard work.

The position with Raytheon seems to offer an excellent career opportunity. I noted the qualifications you are

looking for, and I feel that I am the right individual for your organization. I’m also excited about being exposed to

the different aspects of your business operation and learning the practical side of what I’ve studied in my classes.

You can reach me at the address and number listed on my resume. Thank you for considering my application. I

look forward to your response.

Sincerely yours,

Wilson Hsu, [email protected]
