Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very passionate towards scientific research and discoveries. Having being brought up in a small town with not much financial resources, I have always been determined to work extremely hard and be focused towards achieving my goals.My strong determination is to pursue a dedicated engineering research and my inexorable quest for scientific reasoning has made me an enthusiastic learner. With the introduction of core subjects in Chemical Engineering in the sophomore year, my interest towards the subject matter elevated and I was able to score a SPI of 9.5/10 in the 3^rd semester.

I got an opportunity to get a firsthand experience in scientific research when I started to work under the guidance of prof. Akshay Naik (IISc Bangalore). My work included the AC Dielectrophoresis (DEP) of carbon nanotube (CNT) solutions– Dielectrophoretic nanoassembly of individual carbon nanotubes(CNTs) onto nanoelectrodes. Optimized frequency and concentration of solution used for DEP to get a consistent maximum yield (more no of MOSFET devices). Improved the contact between the CNTs and the metal pads by annealing. Studied the variation of ultrasonication time affecting the length of CNTs for making devices with different channel lengths. My interest in energy industry grew exponentially as I explored my core subjects in chemical engineering and that understanding has generated an unparalled interest to make my future career in this very field. Based on my interaction with my seniors who have been working in shell has convinced me that learning curve never ends here in shell and the kind of exposure which someone receives in the energy industry is vast. Now I would like to explore this interesting area of energy industry and contribute to the field of technology.

Strengths and Weaknesses :

My strengths are I’m very determined, optimistic and hard working. I can deal with different kind of people as I have experience as an Event manager at my college Technical fest. My weaknesses are I can’t say no to my friends which sometimes increases my workload.

I am fully aware of the hard work and commitment required out of me. I believe that given a chance I can contribute constructively to the ongoing research work. I am ready to learn any prerequisites required for the project. I believe that this internship would give me an ideal opportunity in gaining knowledge and experience and open routes to the vast field of energy industry.
