Please accept this letter and the accompanying resume as an expression of my interest in applying for the Junior Project Engineer position, as found on SNC Lavalin’s website, with posting #CL00332. I am a Chemical Engineering graduate from and available to start immediately.

The oil and gas experience I have obtained throughout my work terms have equipped me with skills in engineering cost estimation, delivering projects on time, quality procedures, analyzing problems and implementing recommendations and liaising with engineers from different disciplines. The technical knowledge and multi-disciplinary skills I have obtained from working with electrical, mechanical, civil and senior project engineers is invaluable. I have been trusted and responsible for numerous aspects of engineering work on projects and been able to develop a strong set of project management skills.

Along with my PM skills, I have gained a strong understanding of design processes and reviews, and the requirements involved from pertinent engineering disciplines. I was part of a gate-keeping role that determined whether the current phase of the project and goals for the latter are sufficient to move forward. They included stakeholder’s project wide and looked at factors such as scheduling, cost, manpower and performance. I have also participated in cost control and estimating, communicated with regulatory affairs, maintained QA/QC policies, facilitated HAZOP’s and presented to senior leadership.

I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work at SNC Lavalin and be successful in a junior project engineer role. My previous work terms have taught me how to manage, be a strong leader, communicate effectively and make sound decisions.
