Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a 5th semester Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering student searching for a 6 Month Internship in the fields of Maintenance Engineering, Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. I am highly motivated to gain a deep insight into the wind energy operations of TÜVRheinland AG. The prospect of being exposed to the global engineering and windindustryalso appeals to me.

As an Industrial Engineering student, I have analyzed markets in different regions to find the most favorable suppliers. I have also developed efficient logistics strategies for smooth material flow in most of my classes. As the Project manager for my current semester project on a 10kW Wind turbine, I have performed the task of optimizing the production costs through the ‘bottom-up’ approach of target costing. Also formulating a business case and monitoring individual performance of team members have been some of my important tasks. These tasks have sharpened my analyzing and planning skills required for this position.In my Production Management and Logistics classes, I participated in the Lean game and the Beer game respectively. This helped me learn how to detect and eliminate bottlenecks in a production process. These activities also familiarized me with FIFO, LIFO and average cost methods of inventory management. In Strategic Management, I learned to develop new strategies for successful introduction of a product in the market. Focus was on defining pricing, technology and innovation strategies and cost efficient production management. These experiences have enhanced my logistics and strategy development skills.

In the past, I completed a 9 week internship at the Industry Drive Technology Department (R&D) of Siemens Ltd. in Mumbai. I participated in tasks related to technology development, testing, maintenance, inspection and quality control of different packaging machines.I am always enthusiastic to work in a team. My involvement in the sports committee at the university has boosted my ability to communicate effectively. I am also part of the dance troop at the university. My engineering skills recently helped me win a boat-building race. I have participated in the setting up of some of the biggest university events, for example the Festival of Tolerance which was visited by more than 1000 people. Such activities have also strengthened my organizational skills.
