Sample cover letter for Internship position at Sonic Advertising

POSITION:

Advertising Intern

I am writing to apply for the internship listed on IsenbergWorks. As my resume shows, I am a junior marketing major in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am eager to apply my skills and experience to an internship at Sonic Advertising.

Since starting UMass, I have always chosen courses that can help me realize my goal of becoming an advertising account executive. In my honors marketing class, I worked on a team project in which we created a complete marketing campaign with budget. We collected and analyzed data and presented our findings and recommendations to the class. Sonic is looking for an intern who can help with data analysis in two new campaigns. I can do that.

In addition to my analytical and research skills, I have valuable team and communication skills I have developed at school and in my part-time job. To help pay my college expenses, I work at a local ice cream shop during the semesters. My manager recognized my leadership ability and has given me more responsibility. I train new employees as well as open and close the restaurant.

Sonic Advertising is a leader in the industry. Your campaigns are known worldwide. My experience and skills match what you are looking for in an intern. I would be thrilled for an opportunity to put my talents to work for Sonic this summer and help your successful company succeed even more.
